Running a business is hard—really hard.
Running a dental business while serving patients at the highest level can sometimes feel like a role reserved for a superhero.
After spending nearly a decade working in the dental space, I’ve had the privilege of meeting countless practitioners who genuinely love what they do. Their passion for oral health, patient care, and clinical excellence is exactly why they chose dentistry in the first place. Dental school prepared them well for diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient outcomes—but for many, the business side of practice ownership was never the primary focus.
And yet, the reality is this: building a successful dental practice requires far more than clinical skill alone.
Tax strategy. Human resources. Marketing. Banking relationships. Financial decision-making. Legal fundamentals. Partnerships, transitions, and long-term planning. All of these elements—alongside patient care—are essential to running a healthy, sustainable practice.
That’s where the idea for The Business Side of Dentistry was born.
At Four Roots Marketing and Carter Bank, we are deeply relationship-oriented. We believe growth happens best in community, not isolation. We share a common belief that we are better together, and that philosophy guided every part of this teaching series.
Our goal was to create a low-stress, welcoming environment where dental practitioners and trusted experts could come together—not to sell, impress, or overwhelm—but to learn, connect, and support one another. A space where real questions are welcomed and practical knowledge is shared openly.
As an entrepreneur and marketing professional, I know firsthand that confidence and competence are rarely built alone. They’re developed through community, mentorship, and access to people who are willing to share what they’ve learned. I’ve been incredibly blessed by champions and cheerleaders throughout my own journey, and this series is my way of paying that forward.
The Business Side of Dentistry is designed for dentists at every stage—whether you’re laying your foundation, strengthening what you’ve built, or preparing for what’s next. More than anything, it’s about creating connection, learning, and opportunity—together.
Because when we support one another, we don’t just grow better businesses—we build stronger practices, healthier communities, and more confident leaders.
If you believe—like we do—that growth happens best in community, we invite you to join us for the first session of The Business Side of Dentistry. Let’s learn, connect, and grow—together.
